Latviešu Bakalaura darba „Latvijas neatkarības atjaunošanas reprezentācija laikrakstā "Latvija Amerikā" (1990–1991)” mērķis ir noskaidrot, ar kāda satura informāciju un lingvistiskās izpausmes līdzekļiem trimdas laikrakstā „Latvija Amerikā” (Kanāda) reprezentēti Latvijas neatkarības atjaunošanas jeb Trešās atmodas notikumi 1990. un 1991. gadā. Teorētiskajā daļā izklāstītas reprezentācijas (Berger, Hall, Lacey, Luckmann, Moscovici), nācijas un nacionālās identitātes (Anderson, Bauman, Billig, Gellner, Smith) teorētiskās pamatnostādnes. Tālāk sniegts ieskats Latvijas 20. gs. otrās puses vēsturiskajā kontekstā, kā arī piedāvāts trimdas preses un pētāmā laikraksta „Latvija Amerikā” raksturojums. Pētījumā izmantota kvantitatīvā kontentanalīze un diskursa vēsturiskā analīze. Latvijas neatkarības atjaunošanas notikumi avīzes „Latvija Amerikā” 1990. un 1991. gada publikācijās no trimdas skatupunkta reprezentēti neviennozīmīgi. Konkrēto notikumu diskursīvais novērtējums, izmantojot ekspresīvus lingvistiskās realizācijas līdzekļus, variē no nosodījuma līdz atzinībai. Apelējot pie nacionālajām vērtībām, simboliem un vēstures, preses izdevums Trešās atmodas laikā pildīja arī nacionālās identitātes izjūtas veicināšanas funkciju. Kopumā neatkarības atjaunošana galvenokārt reprezentēta kā morāls pārbaudījums latviešu nācijas spējai mobilizēties garīgi un demonstrēt nacionālo pašapziņu, vērtības un apņēmību cīnīties par valsts suverenitāti. |
Angļu The purpose of the thesis “The Representation of the Renewal of Latvia's Independence in the Newspaper "Latvija Amerikā" (1990–1991)” is to find out the information and means of linguistic expressions used to portray the events of the renewal of Latvia’s independence in 1990 and 1991 in the exile newspaper “Latvija Amerikā”, published in Canada. The theoretical part outlines the fundamentals of representation (Berger, Hall, Lacey, Luckmann, Moscovici) as well as those of nation and national identity (Anderson, Bauman, Billig, Gellner, Smith), followed by an overview of the historical context in Latvia in the second part of the 20th century and a brief profile of the Latvian expatriate press in general and “Latvija Amerikā” in particular. This thesis uses quantitative content analysis and discourse historical analysis. In its issues from 1990 and 1991, “Latvija Amerikā”, from an exile perspective, does not provide a conclusive stance on the events concerning the renewal of independence of Latvia. The newspaper’s discoursive take on the events uses expressive language and varies from condemnation to praise. Appealing to national values, symbols and history, the newspaper contributed to the growing sense of national identity. In general, the renewal of independence is represented as a spritual challenge of the Latvian nation to mobilize mentally and demonstrate national self-esteem, values and preparedness to fight for the independence of their country. |
