Angļu Thenumbers of creative quarters are rapidly increasing in the world. This fact indicates thatdemands for creative industries are increasing. A number ofsociologistsin theirtheories havedescribedthedevelopment ofthe creativeeconomy inthe city, but creative cityisalso important forthe development ofsocial integration. First people identify themselves with a certain neighbourhood, then the district and only after than the city. This sense of belonging they get from local shops, cafes, events, meetings etc. However, in order to cause this identification, a person must participate in these processes and communicate with the other parties involved. It will result in equality and social integration. Creative quarters arepromotingdifferent cultures,so that people could betterunderstand each other. In these neighbourhoodsis also highlighted communication importance in real and digital life.Creativeblocksare oftenset upin old abandoned buildings.By restoringthe infrastructure in these placesthey also improvesocialintegration. At the end ofthe work the aim has been achieved. There have been explored and compared creative quarters of Riga after the social integration functions. The main integration functions of this work were distributed mechanisms of social communication, participation and social networking. |
