Latviešu Maģistra darbā "Mākoņi, to teorētiskais, instrumentālais un simboliskais potenciāls" apskatītas mākoņiem piemītošās un piedēvētās īpašības gan kā dabas, gan kā kultūras fenomeniem. Darbā mērķis: parādīt mākoņus kā nolasāmas zīmes dažādās disciplīnās un apzināt to teorētiskā un simboliskā lasījuma specifiku, kā arī iezīmēt mākoņu instrumentālo lietojumu pirmszinātniskā un zinātniskā skatījumā. Maģistra darbs sastāv no trīs nodaļām, kurās mākoņi sākotnēji aprakstīti no dabas zinātņu pozīcijām, analizējot tiem piemītošās īpašības, tajos notiekošos procesus un šo procesu izpausmes. Dati papildināti ar piemēriem no kultūras, kuri gan parāda mākoņu dabisko īpašību izmantojumu mākslā un ikdienas dzīvē, gan arī norāda uz kultūrā pieņemtajiem un lietotajiem aizspriedumiem attiecībā uz šiem dabas fenomeniem. Otrajā nodaļā analizēti mākoņu pētniecības veidi un piemēri no ainavu zinātnes perspektīvas, bet trešajā daudzpusīgi aprakstīts mākoņu primārā potenciāla izmantojums cilvēku dzīvē, proti, mākoņi kā laikapstākļu zīmes. Mākoņu analīzes rezultātā secināts, ka demarkācijas līnija starp zinātnisko un ne-zinātnisko, starp zināšanām un uzskatiem bieži vien ir plūstoš un neviennozīmīga. |
Angļu The Master thesis “Clouds, their theoretical, instrumental and symbolic potential” is addressing issues of the attributes and properties of the clouds as both natural and cultural phenomena. The aim of the thesis is to show clouds as readable signs in different disciplines and identify specifics of their theoretical and symbolic reading, as well as outline the instrumental use of the clouds in both pre-scientific and scientific point of view. The Master thesis consists of three parts. Initially clouds are described from the point of view of natural sciences, analyzing their properties, ongoing processes and expressions of these processes. Data is supplemented by examples from culture, which both show the use of the clouds’ inherent capacity in art and everyday life, as well as point to adopted and used bias in culture in relation to these natural phenomena. In the second chapter the ways of cloud research and examples from the perspective of landscape science are analyzed, but in the third part the use of the primary potential of the clouds in human life, namely, clouds as weather signs are comprehensively described. As a result of cloud analysis, it is concluded that the demarcation line between scientific and non-scientific, between knowledge and points of view is often irregular and flowing. |
